A new AI chatbot is making waves because it can make music, code, and have conversations that sound intelligent.
ChatGPT, a brand-new artificial intelligence chatbot, converses with users in a conversational manner and takes their commands.
According to Steve Altman, CEO of OpenAI, the firm that created the AI art generator Dall-E presented an early trial of ChatGPT last week and attracted over 1 million users in just five days.
In addition to being conversational, ChatGPT is knowledgeable on a wide variety of subjects. It can write code, social media updates, and even television program scripts.
The dialogue model of ChatGPT, according to OpenAI’s blog post announcing the service’s debut, “allows ChatGPT to answer follow-up inquiries, admit its mistakes, dispute false premises, and reject unsuitable requests,” it stated.
The AI language model “is a sister” of GPT-3.5, a more recent AI that anticipates what words will be used next when a user begins entering text, and InstructGPT, a model that similarly replies in detail to a user’s instructions.
ChatGPT was trained with “Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback,” according to OpenAI’s website.
“We trained an initial model using supervised fine-tuning: human AI trainers provided conversations in which they played both sides—the user and an AI assistant,” the website says.
The chatbot would be taught what kinds of responses were desired by the human trainers by ranking and rating the chatbot’s responses. The business now relies on user input to advance the technology.
